It may not be the most fashionable market, but Europe still offers good investment
Risks to the European market include EU political interference to the threat of stagnation in economic growth, but both Niall Gallagher of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Alex Darwall of Jupiter believe the market is attractive. Both are in the bottom-up stockpicking camp and both run somewhat concentrated European portfolios, however, while Darwall is avoiding direct Eastern European plays and has doubts over oil, Gallagher has several Eastern European bank holdings and favours the oil sector.
