Jupiter's Whitmore replaces Neil Woodford on Omnis fund

Jupiter Asset Management's Ben Whitmore has replaced Neil Woodford as manager of the Omnis Income & Growth fund.

Woodford was sacked from the running of the £317m fund days after his LF Woodford Equity Income fund was suspended earlier in June. Omnis said it had started the selection process for a new manager in May and finally plumped for Jupiter, which already manages its Emerging Market and European Equity funds. Mike Morrow, wealth and platform director at Openwork, Omnis's parent company, said: "We have the utmost confidence in the Omnis Income & Growth fund's value-driven mandate and in Jupiter's ability to manage the portfolio in the best interests of clients."
