ASI and Gresham House form JV to roll out small-cap 'MiFID' fund

Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) and Gresham House have announced the formation of a joint venture (JV) with plans to roll out a fund investing in smaller quoted companies using private equity strategies.

The JV will provide alternative investments firm Gresham House with access to ASI's distribution network and product development capabilities, while ASI will benefit from Gresham House's specialist expertise. The new fund will take a private equity approach, with the managers undertaking due diligence and using a long-term investment horizon to invest in smaller companies deemed to be undervalued that could benefit from "initiatives to increase their value".
