Will Landers to leave BlackRock after 17 years

BlackRock's Will Landers, who has run the £170m BlackRock Latin American investment trust for over a decade, has been replaced as manager by Sam Vecht and Ed Kuczma with immediate effect after announcing plans to leave the firm in March.

The board of the trust announced on 24 December that Landers would be leaving BlackRock on 17 March this year, alongside two analysts from the team based in Sao Paulo. Landers joined the group in 2002 and became sole manager of the trust in March 2006. He also ran a number of open-ended strategies based in the US. He has been replaced on all vehicles including the BGF Latin American fund and the BSF Latin American Opportunities fund as manager with immediate effect by Ed Kuczma, a senior research analyst within the group's global emerging markets equity team.
