Legg Mason opens Dublin office amid Brexit uncertainty

Legg Mason is the latest asset manager to open an office on the continent amid continued uncertainty around the UK leaving the European Union.

The office in Dublin will be headed up by Legg Mason's Penny Kyle, who joined from affiliate Martin Currie, where she was head of North American equities. From January, the office will be a six-strong team focusing on investments, finance and risk, while overseeing the firm's near 80 funds that are domiciled in Ireland. Following the opening, the firm will move the management and European distribution of those fund ranges from a Legg Mason UK entity to LMI Ireland.
