Investment management firm Wellington Management has launched a climate strategy, investing in companies tackling environmental sustainability or climate risks.
The Wellington Climate Strategy UCITS fund will be managed by Alan Hsu, global industry analyst at Wellington Management, along with the firm's global industry analysts.
The fund will incorporate a number of themes including low-carbon electricity, energy efficiency, water and resource management and low-carbon transport.
Hsu said: "We believe climate science, public policy and technology improvements will move us to a low-carbon future, with clear winners and losers along the way.
"Efforts to mitigate carbon or adapt to its impact across all sectors and regions create both risks that should be hedged and opportunities for potential long-term capital investment."
Stefan Haselwandter, senior managing director, head of EMEA global relationship group at Wellington Management, added: "At Wellington, we recognise that a global transition towards a lower-carbon economy is under way.
"With this expansion of our fund platform, we believe Wellington continues to offer investors the flexibility to pursue a wide range of investment objectives."
Last month, the firm launched a financial technology fund in a move to capitalise on the digital transformation of the financial services industry.
