BlackRock has promoted Joe Parkin to head of iShares and digital wealth UK, Netherlands and the Nordics.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the firm's ETF, index and index solutions business across institutional, wealth and retail clients in the UK.
Parkin (pictured) will also be developing BlackRock's digital wealth business with clients across Northern Europe.
In his previous role as head of wealth and retail, UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands at iShares, he was responsible for the distribution of the firm's passive business in the UK.
This included developing sales and relationships with private banks, wealth managers, advisers, discretionary clients, adviser platforms and digital clients.
Parkin joined BlackRock in 2012 as vice president EMEA sales and strategic accounts before becoming chief of staff for iShares sales EMEA in 2013.
Prior to BlackRock, he spent six years at Goldman Sachs, where he started his career, across a number of roles including private wealth management and UK discretionary sales.
Last September, the firm made a raft of senior management changes which included Stephen Cohen replacing Rachel Lord as iShares' EMEA head, with Lord promoted to head of EMEA for the whole firm.
