BNY Mellon IM hires head of UK wealth managers and private banks

BNY Mellon Investment Management has hired Nick Thiem from Coupland Cardiff Asset Management as head of UK wealth managers and private banks.

Thiem replaces Hugo Wheeler, who joined Muzinich & Co. as head of UK wholesale in September. At Coupland Cardiff, Thiem was head of UK distribution, responsible for the development and growth of the firm's UK business. He has also held a number of senior distribution roles at major asset management firms, including Aberdeen Asset Management (now Standard Life Aberdeen), Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Gartmore Investment Management (now Janus Henderson Investors).
