Investec AM hires emerging markets director from Pictet

Investec Asset Management has expanded its emerging markets equity team with the appointment of Nidhi Mahurkar as investment director.

Mahurkar joins from Pictet Asset Management where she spent 13 years, most recently as co-head of the firm's Global Emerging Markets Equities product. She also managed a number of funds including the Pictet Asia Ex Japan Absolute Return fund and the Asia ex-Japan long/short directional strategy. Prior to Pictet, she was part of the global emerging markets team at Lazard Asset Management for five years between 1996 and 2001, where she ran the Birla India investment trust.
