Smith & Williamson (S&W) has hired David Barfoot from J.P. Morgan Asset Management as head of fund sales.
In the newly created role, Barfoot will be responsible for growing the assets across the firm's fund range.
Based in London, he will report to Ed Rosengarten, head of funds business at S&W.
Barfoot was at JPMAM for 18 years as an executive sales director, covering wealth managers, DFMs, fund of funds and private banks.
David Cobb, co-CEO at S&W, commented: "David has the right experience and ability to drive growth in our funds proposition, which includes access to exciting thematic opportunities as well as strategies providing diversified global inflation protection and proven UK equity long/short expertise."

Last month, the firm promoted 14 employees to partner including Genevra Banszky von Ambroz, John Davies, Alexander Imrie, Tim Loutit, Oliver Murray, Andy Peacock and Michael Saunders.
