Aviva Investors eyes Edinburgh office for new hire Cumming and team

Challenge to competitors like Standard Life Aberdeen

Aviva Investors is understood to be hunting for an Edinburgh office to house new CIO, equities David Cumming and a team of fund managers, in what will be seen as a challenge to his former employer Standard Life Aberdeen, according to a report.

According to The Telegraph, sources said Aviva Investors, which manages around £352bn, is on the hunt for office space in Edinburgh in a move that will see Standard Life Investments' ­former head of equities Cumming relocate from London. It is not yet known how many people will be based in Aviva Investors' new office. Aviva currently has Scottish offices in Perth and Bishopbriggs, just outside Glasgow.
