Hargreaves Lansdown co-founder Peter Hargreaves has lent his support to a new start-up providing recruitment services for the financial sector.
Skilling Gate has been set up by former HL colleagues Alexandra Butler and Stuart Raison. Butler and Raison, who combined have 32 years of experience in financial services, plan to assist other professional services firms' with their recruitment needs.
The pair will adopt a consultative approach to encourage people to consider a career in financial services by building up their confidence and skills, using their experience in recruiting, developing and leading large teams and their contacts and links with universities and colleges.
Alexandra Butler, Skilling Gate director, said: "Financial services makes such a huge contribution to our economy offering diverse and challenging job opportunities, yet the sector is often misunderstood by those taking their first steps on the career ladder.
"At Skilling Gate we want to help candidates by giving them the confidence to be successful and provide companies with talented, capable individuals who are passionate about a career in finance.
"We know from our wealth of experience within the sector and recruiting hundreds of people ourselves what works. And we also know what it's like starting out in the financial services sector."
Hargreaves will be talking about the importance of hiring the right people for a successful business at the launch of Skilling Gate on 27 February.
