Boutique asset manager Unigestion has hired Frank Maret, formerly at Canada Life Investments, as its head of marketing.
Maret was previously head of distribution at Canada Life Investments for six years, but left the firm at the end of last year.
He replaces Jean-François Hirschel, who is leaving the firm to set up his own consultancy business, Investment Week understands.
He brings more than 20 years' of experience in the global asset management industry, having joined Canada Life Investments in 2010, leading the distribution of its products in the UK as the firm built up its presence in the retail market.
He also previously worked at Insight Investment as head of marketing for Europe, as well as J.P. Morgan Asset Management as pan-European senior marketing manager.
In his new role, Maret will be based in London, leading the firm's marketing output with the goal to improve engagement with Unigestion's client base, as well as further developing the firm's digital offering.
Fiona Frick, CEO of Unigestion, said: "Our marketing activity is integral to the future success of Unigestion as a whole, and having someone with Frank's experience and expertise on board will undoubtedly take our marketing function to the next level."
Maret added: "I am delighted to be joining a firm that is leading the way in product innovation and has a long and enduring culture of collaboration and partnership with our clients.
"As Unigestion grows its presence in new markets and segments, I am proud to be part of a team that will be instrumental to the success of the firm globally."
