Beaufort Investment Management has hired Peter Cousins as investment manager from Brewin Dolphin.
Cousins spent 17 years at Brewin Dolphin managing discretionary and advisory investment portfolios for high net worth clients. He has also held roles at Schroders and Fidelity.
The move follows Beaufort IM's appointment of ex-Rowan Dartington Stewart Murray as CEO in April.
Murray said: "We are delighted to have appointed Peter to our expanding team.
"We have an established proposition for financial advisers who wish to outsource their clients' investment portfolios. Peter's role will be to advise high net worth private clients.
"Peter has a successful track record of managing portfolios on behalf of private clients and those in the professional services, mainly on a discretionary basis, as well as providing advice when required."
Cousins said: "I am thrilled to be joining Beaufort at this time of rapid expansion. The increased wealth management offering is testament to the company's ambitions to provide a high-level professional service which delivers excellent value to the client."
