Schroders has promoted John Spedding to head of investment trusts within its UK intermediary business, after a 20-year career with the firm.

Spedding (pictured), who was previously head of asset management secretariat at the firm, will be responsible for the overall strategy of Schroders' investment trust business, the oversight of its relationships with shareholders, clients and other key stakeholders, and the development of new opportunities. He has over 26 years experience working with investment trusts, 20 years with Schroders including roles such as company secretary and client director.
