Over half of wealth managers say Brexit would negatively impact FM industry

But 60% say unlikely to happen

Around 56% of wealth managers questioned by Harrington Cooper for its latest survey believe a Brexit will be 'negative' or 'very negative' for the UK asset management industry, Investment Week can exclusively reveal.

The fund distributor questioned 85 wealth managers and multi-managers on their views on the likelihood of a Brexit and the impact it could have on the UK fund management industry. Some 41 respondents (48.2%) said it would be negative while seven more answered it would be very negative for the sector.  The survey also found 30 respondents believe there will be no impact on the industry, while only seven said the consequences would be positive or very positive - meaning less than 10% believe there will be a positive outcome of a Brexit.
