Lazard launches US Fundamental Alternative fund for NY duo

Lazard Asset Management has launched the US Fundamental Alternative fund for New York-based portfolio managers Dmitri Batsev and Jerry Liu.

Based on the existing Lazard Fundamental Long/Short strategy, the new UCITS compliant vehicle will focus on US securities, with the flexibility to invest across the whole market-cap spectrum. The managers will take long positions in companies with strong or improving financial productivity and attractive valuations, but will also look to short  companies with deteriorating fundamentals or unattractive valuations.
