The UK government will allow crowdfunded debt securities issued by companies to be held within Innovative Finance ISAs and is exploring the case for adding equity crowdfunding securities in due course.

In its response to a consultation on the issue, it said that draft legislation setting out the government's approach to implementing this change will follow technical discussions with interested parties. It plans to allow securities to be held in Innovative Finance ISAs by Autumn 2016. A total of one individual and 31 interested parties responded to the consultation, with the majority arguing that crowdfunded debt securities should be added to the list of eligible investments for ISAs as part of the government's commitment to increase the choice of investments available to savers. ...
