AIC: Investment trust fundraising hits all-time high

Investment trust fundraising so far in 2015 is the highest on record, according to data from the Association of Investment Companies (AIC).

The sector raised £3.9bn up until 14 September, which the AIC said is a higher total raised than in any whole calendar year in history. Investment trusts saw inflows of £5.5bn for the period and outflows of £1.5bn, giving the net flow figure of £3.9bn. Much of the fundraising has been in higher yielding companies in specialist sectors, such as peer-to-peer lending.
