'Skilful' UK equity managers stand out in FE's ratings rebalance

UK equity managers are the biggest winners in the latest bi-annual rebalancing of FE Trustnet's Crown Ratings, with 51 funds gaining the top accolade of five crowns.

Emerging market funds also fared particularly well, with 34 out of a total of 252 gaining the top rating. US and European equity vehicles were not so successful, with just seven and 11 funds from each geographical area, respectively, receiving five crowns. Oliver Clarke-Williams, from FE Research, said: "The success of UK managers is a tribute to how skilful these managers are in this sector - a much higher number than you would traditionally expect for such a developed, well-researched market and often thought of as difficult to outperform in."
