Jupiter hires Columbia Threadneedle's Ring as distribution head

Columbia Threadneedle head of product Nick Ring is to join Jupiter as global distribution head, Investment Week can reveal.

Ring (pictured) will join Jupiter's executive committee in September and play a "key role" in developing and implementing business strategy, according to the group. He will be tasked with ensuring the fund house has the right presence in new and existing markets in terms of products, client support and marketing. The global head of distribution role was briefly occupied by Simon Hynes last year prior to his decision to take time out of the industry, having previously been held by Maarten Slendebroek, now Jupiter chief executive.
