Woodford IM takes stake in Bramson's Sherborne vehicle

Neil Woodford has opened a position in Edward Bramson's Sherborne 'Guernsey B' vehicle as one of his first investments at his new firm.

According to regulatory filings, Woodford Investment Management (WIM) has bought 9m shares in Sherborne Investors Guernsey B Limited, equivalent to a 4.35% stake. Private equity group Sherborne, run by former F&C chairman Edward Bramson (pictured), raised £207m back in 2012 in floating its Guernsey B vehicle with a view to buying a 30% stake in a UK-listed company. Major fund groups such as Threadneedle already hold a significant stake in the listed Sherborne business.
