BlackRock launches EM multi-asset fund for Shen

BlackRock has launched a multi-asset emerging markets fund for Jeff Shen, head of its emerging markets team.

The BSF Emerging Market Allocation fund will be co-managed by Seanna Kim and Rodolfo Martell and will aim to deliver equity-like returns, while reducing volatility associated with the region. The fund will invest across emerging and frontier markets and may include ‘alternative' strategies, such as long/short, in an effort to reduce volatility which has come to the fore in recent weeks.
