Nordea's new North American All Cap fund has left competitors in the shadows in the last year, outperforming many rivals in the IMA North America sector thanks to the performance of some key holdings.
Launched last May and subsequently swelled by the merger of the group's North American Equity Growth fund, the All Cap fund has enjoyed a stellar 12 months. The portfolio - which is outsourced to Florida-based Eagle Asset Management and run by its managers Ed Cowart and John Pandtle - has outstripped its benchmark, returning 30.28% versus the Russell 3000 index return of 20.44%. Cowart and Pandtle say stock selection is the main driver of outperformance since launch, and they have identified some of the key stock picks which have boosted the fund's overall return.
