Chief strategist Wood-Smith exits Investec wealth arm

Investec Wealth & Investment's chief investment strategist Jim Wood-Smith has left the business.

Wood-Smith was formerly the head of research and chief investment officer at Williams de Broë, which was taken over by Investec in 2011. Investec bought the wealth manager from Evolution in a deal worth £233m, fighting off competition from other firms including Canaccord Genuity. Wood-Smith subsequently became chief investment strategist at Investec in September 2012 when the group integrated WdB into its business.
