Artemis' Dodd backs Rothschild in Bumi battle

Artemis Investment Management co-founder John Dodd has backed financier Nathan Rothschild in his boardroom battle over coal miner Bumi.

Dodd (pictured) has said he will support Rothschild’s firm, NR Investments, in its proposed resolutions to replace 12 of the 14 directors on the board of Bumi plc. The manager holds the miner in his £176m Alpha trust, co-managed with Adrian Paterson, although it is not a top ten position. Rothschild is trying to win support from the City in his battle with Bumi plc's directors and its Indonesian shareholders.
