Former M&G manager Mike Godfrey has joined institutional investment boutique Marathon after leaving the asset manager last week.
Godfrey (pictured), who spent eight years at M&G and ran its £681m GEM fund and £467m Asian fund alongside Matthew Vaight, will join the UK-based institutional asset manager in December to run emerging markets portfolios. He will be responsible for managing client investments in emerging markets and Asia ex Japan. Godfrey's move to Marathon - which specialises in equity-only investments - comes as Marathon founder Jeremy Hoskin is to retire at the end of the year.
