Crispin Odey has received planning permission for a £100,000 luxury chicken coop which will sit in the grounds of his country pile in rural Gloucestershire.

According to documents filed with the Forest of Dean District Council's planning department, the founder of Odey Asset Management is building a super high spec coop for his poultry, which will use only the highest quality locally sourced materials. The spoilt fowl will get to live in a structure with columns, steps, wall, pilasters and paving constructed of grey Forest of Dean stone, as well as a rusticated stone plinth course.
