Lord O'Donnell frontrunner for Barclays chairman role

Former Cabinet Secretary Lord O'Donnell has emerged as one of the leading frontrunners to take the role of Barclays chairman.

According to Telegraph reports, senior figures at the bank have tipped Lord O'Donnell to become Barclays' new chairman, following the departure of Marcus Agius (pictured). O'Donnell has also been linked to several high profile roles in the past, including the Governor of the Bank of England. Meanwhile, Bill Winters, former co-chief executive of JP Morgan's banking division, is favoured to replace CEO Bob Diamond.
