Buxton's best and worst stocks over a decade on UK Alpha Plus

Schroders' Richard Buxton has revealed his best and worst stock ideas over the last ten years, as he marks a decade at the helm of the £2.7bn UK Alpha Plus fund.

The group’s head of UK equities (pictured) said M&A activity around stocks he owned has been a major contributor to performance during his tenure, although he does not actively seek stocks he thinks will see bid approaches. Over the last ten years, 12 names that have been held in the portfolio have been the subject of takeovers, including Abbey National, Boots, P&O, O2, Autonomy, Logica, and Misys.
