Ignis' Holden concentrates UK Focus into 21 stocks

Mark Holden has lifted the £107m UK Focus fund out of the bottom quartile by concentrating the portfolio into just 21 stocks.

Around 30% has been placed on the oil exploration sector, an area Holden (pictured) previously specialised in, and although this hefty weighting has dampened performance slightly in the past month, the fund is now producing an above average return. Since 1 October, the date Holden was handed the reins of the fund, it has returned 9.4%, outperforming the UK All Companies average return of 6.88%, according to Morningstar.
