Lowson replaces St John on AXA IM small cap fund

AXA IM has promoted Henry Lowson to become lead manager of its £54m AXA Framlington UK Smaller Companies fund.

Lowson has taken over from Chris St John (pictured), manager of the fund since February 2008, to give the latter more time to focus on the £12m UK Mid Cap fund he has run since launch last February. St John will remain as deputy manager of the small cap fund, and will continue to run institutional small cap mandates alongside his mid cap portfolio. Lowson, part of Framlington's 10-strong UK investment team, joined AXA IM in 2005 and manages institutional mandates as well as AIM IHT portfolios as part of AXA Framlington's inheritance tax portfolio service.
