Ten of the best investment trusts for income seekers

Oriel Securities has named the top ten highest yielding equity-focused investment trusts for investors hunting for income.

The top ten contains a host of familiar names, including Neil Woodford's popular Edinburgh Investment trust, and the City of London trust, managed by Henderson's Job Curtis. Both are both delivering yields of 4.5%, and are among a group of 20 trusts available to UK investors which pay more than 4% a year. Top of the pile is the Henderson High Income trust, managed by Alex Crooke, which has a dividend yield of 6.5%. Crooke has big positions in a number of the UK's income stalwarts, including a 6.5% stake in Vodafone, 4.7% in British American Tobacco and 4.7% also in GlaxoSmithKline....
