Liontrust is set to launch an Asian Income fund on 5 March, managed by Mark Williams, who recently joined the group when it acquired emerging market boutique Occam.
The unit trust will have a prospective yield of roughly 10% above the MSCI All Country Asia ex-Japan index. Williams joined Occam in 2007, before which he ran the Pacific Growth fund for F&C in 2007. Liontrust acquired Occam in August in a £3.9bn deal. Carolyn Chan has also joined as an assistant fund manager providing additional support to the team. She has 18 years' experience investing in Asian markets, including at Citigroup Global Markets and Daiwa Capital Markets.
