OMAM chief executive Baxter exits

Peter Baxter, chief executive of Old Mutual Asset Managers UK, has exited the firm to pursue other opportunitues.

Baxter, who has been at the group since 2000, has been replaced by Julian Ide, former head of institutional business at BBVA Asset Management. He joined the group in September 2000 as CIO, before becoming CEO in May 2005. Prior to that Baxter worked at Hill Samuel Asset Management for six years. The group said Stewart Cowley, head of fixed income, will take over the reins of the £80m Old Mutual Select Managed fund, previously run by Baxter.
