HSBC unveils LatAm and Asia bond funds

HSBC Global Asset Management has launched two emerging market bond funds investing in Latin American and Asian fixed income, for managers Octavio Ferreira, Cecilia Chan and Alfred Mui.

The Latin America Local Debt fund, for Ferreira, will provide exposure to investment grade and non-investment grade bonds issued by Latin American governments and companies, benchmarked against the JPM GBI EM Global Latin America index. The fund will hold between 20 and 50 securities from countries including Brazil, Mexico, Columbia and Peru. The HSBC GIF Asian Currencies Bond fund will be run by Chan, CIO of fixed income Asia Pacific, and Mui, investment director of fixed income.
