Lord Mandelson becomes senior adviser to Lazard

Former government minister Lord Peter Mandelson has taken on a senior advisory role at US investment bank Lazard.

In the role, Mandelson will provide independent strategic counsel to Lazard and its clients. Kenneth Jacobs, the firm's chief executive, says: "Lord Mandelson has exceptional experience and acumen in business and public affairs. I believe his counsel will be invaluable to our clients and colleagues in Europe and worldwide, and I look forward to working with him." Mandelson will work alongside Lazard's teams based in London, Paris, New York and other offices, as well as its network of other senior advisers.
