FTSE sluggish as Asia suffers on euro fears

UK shares are in indecisive mode again this morning, while Asian stocks have been hit by renewed eurozone debt fears.

The FTSE 100 rose 0.42% or 24.1 points to 5,906 today, while both the FTSE 250 and the All Share were up about the same amount. News last night the US government is to sue BP over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill has sent shares in the oil giant 3% lower to 461.1p. The government filed a civil lawsuit against BP and eight other companies over the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and the subsequent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
