Investec unveils blended local and hard currency EMD fund

Investec Asset Management, which runs $5bn of emerging market debt assets, is launching a blended local currency and hard currency EMD strategy.

The group will use its experience in running dollar-denominated bonds for institutional clients in launching the new Investec GSF Emerging Markets Blended Debt product. Investec said the Ucits III Luxembourg-domiciled fund would launch on 1 December and be managed by its EMD team, headed by Peter Eerdmans. Following the launch, Investec will add the label ‘Local Currency’ to its EMD strategy, to more adequately reflect its investment focus.
