The FTSE rose 0.70% this morning after the Dow Jones closed last night 1.80% higher.
This morning's winners were Antofagasta, climbing 2.84%, Xstrata which was up 2.82%, Kazakhyms, up 2.59%, Anglo American, climbing 2.56%, and Man Group, which gained 2.51%. But British insurers took a hit on the FTSE this morning, with Admiral Group falling 0.96% and Alliance Trust dropping 0.36%. The FTSE's gains are mirrored throughout Europe, with Germany's Dax up 0.78% and France's Cac 40 up nearly 1%. In Asia, stock markets posted solid overnight gains, with Japan's Nikkei gaining 0.8%.
