Threadneedle GEM managers quit

Vanessa Donegan has taken on the newly created role of head of Asia and global emerging markets at Threadneedle as head of GEM equities Julian Thompson and deputy manager Jules Mort leave the group.

Donegan, formerly the head of Asia Pacific equities, will have overall responsibility for a team managing £6.5bn of emerging market equity assets, including Thompson and Mort's £1bn Latin American and £117m Global Emerging Market Equities funds. Jeremy Podger takes the reins of the Latin America fund, while Donegan and Rafael Polatinsky take on the GEM Equities fund. Podger is the manager of the Global Select and Global Crescendo funds.
