Schroders appoints head of European equities

Schroders has promoted Rory Bateman to the role of head of European equities, replacing Gary Clarke who left for J.P. Morgan earlier this year.

Bateman, who joined Schroders in early 2008, will oversee the European equities team. He will continue to manage several European funds and a team of analysts, but will not directly manage any retail portfolios. He will report to Ken Lambden, the global head of equities. Lambden says: "Rory has already played a key managerial role in the team since joining us and I am confident that he will continue to deliver strong performance and a high quality service for our investors."
