Legal & General Investment Management's Mark Burgess has joined Threadneedle as chief investment officer.
He replaces Sarah Arkle, who has been CIO for 10 years but will resign from this post next year to become the firm's vice chairman. Burgess joins in the first quarter of next year. While at LGIM he was managing director, head of equities, responsible for the group's £10bn active equities business. Before that, he was at Deutsche Asset Management for 12 years, including as managing director, head of UK equity and balanced products.
