Aegon has promoted Peter Shaw to become joint manager with Audrey Ryan on the £43.2m UK Opportunities fund.
He was formerly a support manager on the portfolio. UK Opportunities is a high conviction equity fund managed by Ryan since launch in 2007. Steve Kenny, the head of European retail sales, says the appointment shows Aegon's commitment to nurturing in-house talent. Over the three years to 6 July the fund has fallen 11.5% compared to an average 20% fall in the IMA UK All Companies sector and a 16.6% decline in the FTSE All Share, according to Financial Express.
