Asian equities head Hames quits Aberdeen

Peter Hames is to step down as head of Asian equities at Aberdeen Asset Management Asia later this year.

Hames, who joined Aberdeen in 1990 and set up Aberdeen Asia in Singapore in 1992 alongside managing director Hugh Young, says the time is now right to leave the industry and return to Europe. Aberdeen says its collective investment approach and emphasis on rotating company visits among managers means that little change is expected as a result. "Peter's contribution has been vast and I am personally sorry to see him go," says Young. "He has always set the standards for the team.
