The Dow Jones lifted this afternoon despite data showing higher job losses in the US, alongside the expected announcement of 5.7% drop in GDP this year, based on Q1 figures. By 10.50am EDT, the blue-chip index had risen 40.66 points (0.49%) to sit at 8,340.52. The biggest losers in early trading included Bank of America and J.P. Morgan Chase, which fell 2.11% to $12.09 and 1.32% to $33.02, respectively. The leading stock was Home Depot, up 2.65% to $23.28 and Caterpillar also climbed 2.19% to $34.13.
