Now that the dust is beginning to settle on HMRC's latest tinkering with simplification, it seems an appropriate time to reflect. I think we would all agree the hope and anticipation we felt in 2006 has evaporated somewhat. We were promised a regime where one size would fit all, where we could confidently offer clients a way to plan for their pension future.
