Manager makes decision after his fund inherits £4.5m in cash following its merger with UK Equity Growth this month
Marlborough's Giles Hargreave will use his inherited cash surplus to introduce corporate brokers into his Special Situations fund following its absorption of UK Equity Growth. He says opportunities will arise this year as more companies look to merger and acquisition and fundraising activity. The merger took place at the start of this month following a troubled few years for UK Equity Growth, which suffered three-year losses of -43.9% against the IMA UK All Companies sector average of -26.3% as at 20 April, according to Morningstar figures.
