Martin Cholwill has revitalised Royal London's UK Equity Income fund since taking over in March, pulling the portfolio out of Principal Investment Management's latest Black List of serial underperformers in the sector. The Black List identifies those funds that have consistently failed to perform, based upon net dividend yield, net income, total return and volatility. Principal also produces the White List, identifying the 12 funds that have delivered the most attractive combination of total returns and volatility over the last five years within the sector.
