Discounts have been widening across the investment company sector. Trusts such as Majedie, Henderson Opportunities, Schroder Income Growth and most of the UK small-cap funds are trading at levels not seen for some time. The worry must be that the door is opening up again for the arbitrageurs to come back in force after what has been a quiet period (with the notable exception of the Eaglet requisition and the stake-building in Fidelity Asian Values).
